What this tool does
Blur Face hides people's identities in a photo — for social posts, news, school or property listings — by detecting faces automatically and covering them with a blur, pixelation or a solid block. You can draw extra boxes for anything it missed, such as number plates.
How it works
- Upload a photo — faces are found automatically.
- Choose blur, pixelate or block and the strength; drag on the photo to add areas, click a box to remove it.
- Download the anonymised photo.
Example: Upload a group photo from a school event, let it find the 9 faces, switch to Pixelate, drag one extra box over a car number plate, and download a version that is safe to post publicly.
Yes. The blur face is completely free, with no signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many times you use it.
No installation is needed — it runs entirely in your browser, on desktop or mobile, and works the same way on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
It opens JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, HEIC and TIFF photos and saves in the original format (JPG, PNG or WebP). Face detection runs on your device with Google MediaPipe; the photo is never uploaded.
No. Your files are read and processed inside your browser and never leave your device, so nothing is stored, shared, or used for anything else.
Yes — "blur face" and "pixelate faces online" describe the same task. This page is built to handle that search directly, without redirecting you elsewhere.
