What this tool does
A meme generator puts big, outlined caption text on a picture — the classic white-text-with-black-outline style — so it stays readable on any background, and gives you a shareable image in seconds.
How it works
- Upload a picture (or pick a blank canvas).
- Type the top and bottom text, add more boxes if you like, and drag them into place.
- Pick font, size and colours, then download.
Example: Upload a photo of your cat looking unimpressed, type "WHEN THE WIFI DROPS" on top and "FOR 2 SECONDS" at the bottom, and download a meme ready to post.
Yes. The meme generator is completely free, with no signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many times you use it.
No installation is needed — it runs entirely in your browser, on desktop or mobile, and works the same way on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
Upload any JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or HEIC image, or start from a blank coloured canvas. Download the finished meme as PNG or JPG at the original resolution, with no watermark.
No. Your files are read and processed inside your browser and never leave your device, so nothing is stored, shared, or used for anything else.
Yes — "meme generator" and "meme maker" describe the same task. This page is built to handle that search directly, without redirecting you elsewhere.
