What this tool does
A ZIP tool packs several files into one compressed .zip archive that is easier to email or upload, and unpacks .zip archives you receive so you can save the files inside — without installing any software.
How it works
- Choose Create ZIP to pack files, or Extract ZIP to open an archive.
- Add your files or folder (or the .zip you want to open).
- Download the new archive, or download the extracted files one by one.
Example: Add a folder of 40 holiday photos, keep standard compression, and download one "holiday.zip" with the folder structure intact — or upload a "documents.zip" you were sent and save just the file you need.
Yes. The zip tool is completely free, with no signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many times you use it.
No installation is needed — it runs entirely in your browser, on desktop or mobile, and works the same way on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
It creates standard .zip archives from any files or folders, and opens .zip archives (including ones made by Windows, macOS, 7-Zip and WinRAR) to extract individual files. Password-protected ZIPs and other formats such as .rar or .7z are not supported.
No. Your files are read and processed inside your browser and never leave your device, so nothing is stored, shared, or used for anything else.
Yes — "zip tool" and "unzip files online" describe the same task. This page is built to handle that search directly, without redirecting you elsewhere.
