What this tool does
A file splitter cuts one large file into several smaller ones — useful for upload or email size limits, or for spreadsheet exports too big to open. Byte splits rejoin to the exact original; CSV splits produce standalone files that each open on their own.
How it works
- Upload the file you want to split.
- Choose equal parts, a maximum part size, or (for CSV) a number of rows per file.
- Split, then download each part or all parts as one ZIP.
Example: Upload a 250 MB "backup.sql", choose parts of 100 MB, and get "backup.sql.001" (100 MB), "backup.sql.002" (100 MB) and "backup.sql.003" (50 MB) — rejoin them later with the File Joiner.
Yes. The file splitter is completely free, with no signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many times you use it.
No installation is needed — it runs entirely in your browser, on desktop or mobile, and works the same way on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
Any file type can be split into byte-exact parts (numbered .001, .002, …) that the File Joiner puts back together. CSV/TSV files can also be split by row count, with the header repeated in every part.
No. Your files are read and processed inside your browser and never leave your device, so nothing is stored, shared, or used for anything else.
Yes — "file splitter" and "split large file" describe the same task. This page is built to handle that search directly, without redirecting you elsewhere.
